When used during the engineering design or fabrication / construction stage of projects, it should be possible to input items directly into LoadmaX from drawing material lists (material take-off / bill of materials). We can assist with set up of effective and efficient procedures. There are special interface facilities if using the QuantimaX module from our MatriX suite. QuantimaX provides drawing material takeoff facilities for various disciplines and produces material requirements that feed to requisitioning and material control facilities; man-hour estimates can also be generated automatically.

A drawing MTO item may identify the quantity needed and, for unit items such as with a unit of measurement of ‘each’, the QuantimaX to LoadmaX data transfer program will generate one record for each item. The records in LoadmaX will then be available so that each individual item can have the centre of gravity coordinates defined.Bulk material takeoffs should be undertaken so that each record copied into LoadmaX will be appropriate for the definition of the x, y, z centre of gravity position; as an example, pipe for process pipework may have a takeoff item entry (measured in linear feet or metres) for each piece of pipe. The detailed records that are loaded from drawing material takeoffs have reference to the relevant drawing number and revision. As drawings are revised, the system allows weight controllers the ability to check for weight or CoG changes from an earlier revision. The system also has capability to review the history for items that may have had weight or CoG changes.
