Data Control

LoadmaX Application
Weight control engineers quite commonly undertake their job based around the use of a spreadsheet but the alternative usage of a structured computer application such as LoadmaX provides numerous benefits and advantages. The data used by LoadmaX is maintained in a fully functional database management system therefore providing multiple and concurrent user access.
Coordinate Boundaries
LoadmaX incorporates various data control features. For instance, each module has facility to set the minimum and maximum boundaries for x, y and z coordinate entries so that the system will not accept any entry that positions an item outside the boundary limits.
Data Quality
Using LoadmaX will help to eliminate weight control data entry errors that can be very costly and cause potentially serious safety issues.
Data Hand-Over and Data Sharing
Users of LoadmaX can be set-up as ‘read-only’ for particular classes or groups of personnel. This can be particularly useful when design or construction contracts are progressed at a fabrication site. This feature can be used to allow stakeholders access to the information so a design contractor / consultant can monitor weight information as fabrication progresses to ensure that the loadings based on as-built records are within the design envelope.
For major platform or rig building projects, the plant owner’s project management team can expect to spend a significant sum assuring that weights are properly managed. The ability to gain access to LoadmaX with real-time (or near real-time) information has the potential to significantly save on alternative weight control quality assurance.
Different options are available for both data sharing and data hand-over. For example, a single shared environment can be established or separate copies of LoadmaX databases (and systems) can be set-up at different stake-holder site.
LoadmaX can also be established for use at contractor sites and then loaded into a centralised and consolidated database at client or project management team offices, as required. It may be a requirement to consolidate weight information from different module fabrication contracts to feed into a centralised / consolidated database for the entire platform / rig.
